New World, Amazon Games’ flagship MMORPG, has introduced a limited-time test of an in-game feature designed to enhance the user experience in overcrowded worlds. This decision follows the release of the game’s latest expansion, Rise of the Angry Earth, which has led to an upsurge in player numbers and consequently, longer queue times.
If you’ve recently returned to New World for their latest expansion, you likely encountered queues, especially on popular servers. In response, Amazon Games has introduced a new feature enabling players to initiate a free World Transfer directly from the Character Selection screen during peak queue times. To access this feature, players need to select the “options” button next to their chosen character. However, there are certain limitations. Transfers can only be made to non-Full/Fresh Start worlds within the player’s existing region, meaning cross-region transfers are not an option.
The initial test focused on the US East region on 10/13/2023 from 6 pm to 9 pm PDT and has since concluded. Amazon Games encouraged many players to participate, with the primary objective being a thorough evaluation of the back-end service performance.
Upon the official release of this feature, Amazon will activate free world transfers only during high queue times, such as after major updates or expansions. Concurrently, paid World Transfers will temporarily become unavailable in the In-Game Store across all regions. However, they will be reinstated once the free transfer feature is deactivated.
The recent surge in queue times can be attributed to the launch of New World‘s first major expansion, Rise of the Angry Earth. This expansion has transformed the realms of Aeternum, introducing new content and challenges. Players can now ride mounts, wield new weapons, and explore the altered lands. Furthermore, a new Expedition for Level 62+ players has been introduced, allowing them to hunt down the primordial Beast Lords before chaos emerges from the depths of Aeternum.
With the Rise of the Angry Earth expansion bringing enticing new content to New World, the addition of Amazon Games’ free World Transfer feature is a proactive step toward ensuring a smoother gaming experience for future expansions. And for players to get a better PVP and PVE experience, more New World Gold rewards to make players excited. However, the decision to initiate a world transfer after investing time in a particular server remains a personal choice for players.
